Looking for a summer internship? The Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Cooperative is looking for four summer field interns to assess forest plots as part of a statewide forest health monitoring program. Interns will work closely with forest health professionals to establish and survey monitoring plots and collect various forest health data throughout the state of Vermont.
Who are they looking for? Someone who…
- Has taken a Dendrology course or is knowledgeable of common tree and herbaceous species in the northeastern region of the U.S. (preferred)
- Is comfortable with a compass and GPS navigation
- Preferably has had exposure to forest inventory sampling techniques (d-tapes, prisms, measuring tape, clinometers, hypsometers, etc.)
Internship runs from June 10-August 16, 2019
Compensation: $11.50/hr
