In case you missed this cool bit of news during all of the holiday hoopla, Middlebury’s Schumann Distinguished Scholar Bill McKibben was named one of Time magazine’s 100 “People Who Matter” for 2011.
- A quartet of Middlebury faculty recently attained tenure. Congrats to Rebecca Bennette, John Maluccio, Jonathan Miller-Lane, and John Schmitt.

The Middlebury men’s hoops team has carried its unbeaten record and nation’s top ranking into the new year. This week, the Panthers scored an eye-popping, school-record-setting 123 points in a win at RPI. All the winter sports teams will be in action this week, with both the men’s and women’s basketball teams hosting doubleheaders in Pepin, while the men’s hockey team takes to the home ice against Wesleyan and Trinity.
