Come up with a question about a character in any of the texts we have read so far, and address it via the close reading of at least one passage in the text. Your paper should make effective use of the Twelve Elements of the Scholarly Essay, as listed HERE.
Your question may be about this character as the character relates to the text as a whole, the concept of literary character itself, the effects achieved for the character you have selected, or any other topic about which readers of the text in question might be curious.
The essay should be four to six pages in length, double-spaced. Block quotations should not be double-spaced. Margins should be no more than 1.25 inches, no less than .75 inches. No extra spaces between paragraphs, please! If you use secondary sources, you may use either the Chicago Manual of Style or the MLA citation format.
