New acquisitions lists in MIDCAT

I miss the old way that MIDCAT organized the ‘new acquisitions’ lists by the month. The new format, with the covers of the various library acquisitions, looks nice but it’s not very useful for browsing. I think it would be very handy to be able to sort the list by acquisition type — e.g, book, DVD, music CD, score, map, etc.

    Dear Professor Sheridan.
Thanks for your comment. We’ve always maintained both display options, the new display at go/newbooks and the old listing that you can find here. You can also find both links on the “LIS for Faculty” page go/lis4faculty. Due, in part, to staffing levels and the increasing demands on our time, we did decide to create one long new acquisitions list to save time. In addition, do you know about our MIDCAT search alerts? You can set these to be sent to your email address with any keyword you choose as well as format, like music recordings, videos, etc. Those details are available on this LIS blog post.
