TedxMonterey

The Monterey Institute of International Studies is hosting a Tedx event.  TED refers to the wildly successful annual conferences that bring together people from technology, entertainment and design to give short talks about their lives.  Tedx events are community organized programs that following a similar format to the TED conferences.

TedxMonterey is happening on April 15 and will be livestreamed and live-interpreted to the web.   Speakers will include dancers (including Middelbury’s Andrea Olsen), drummers, environmentalists, researchers, entrepreneurs and artists.

LIS Arts and Crafts Exhibit Opens Today!

The opening reception for the 2nd Annual LIS Arts & Crafts Exhibit (“Exhibited 2010″) will be held TODAY – 4PM Wednesday, June 9th.
Exhibited 2010 will be up in the Atrium of the Davis Family Library June 9th-June 28th. All are welcome! Come early for music and chocolate dipped strawberries!

Do you have any artistic and creative pursuits you would be interested in exhibiting?
So far LIS staff artists and crafters have expressed interest in exhibiting photography, painting, quilting, lacework, knitting, and other fiber arts.
Are you a potter, painter, sculptor, knitter, calligrapher or weaver?
Please consider sharing your work with others in LIS and across campus.
