Journal Purchase Suggestion Form

Use this form to suggest that the library acquire a specific journal, but before doing so, please check the Library’s Print & E-Journals A-Z list to see if we already own the title.

Because a journal subscription requires annual re-payment and is sometimes expensive, the library will process your request differently than it does for a book. Your suggestion will be routed to a library liaison assigned to develop collections in the subject matter of the journal. The liaison will decide whether or not to submit a more  detailed request to the Serials Review Committee (SRC), based on the appropriateness of the subject matter to the collection. The SRC considers some requests immediately, but most often stockpiles them for deliberation around Spring term break, when it has a better picture of the library materials budget. Journal subscriptions begin in January and run through December, so if your request is accepted, it will be fitted into that cycle.
