- Guided international visiting faculty, lecturers and scholars by showing them office space, assigning keys, explaining departmental policies and procedures, directing them to services on campus
- Researched UC Business and Travel policy
- Handled high volume of purchases, reimbursements, textbook orders, classroom reservations, instructor evaluations, parking permits, and facilities/audio visual service requests for 60+ faculty, lecturers, staff and graduate students
- Coordinated event planning consisting of catering, room reservations, gifts, travel, guest speaker logistics, etc.
- Counseled current or prospective students on the department’s 5 majors and 2 minors
Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program (JET), Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, 2010 – 2012
English Teacher, Itami Nishi High School (main school)
- Selected to participate as English teacher and cultural ambassador at 3 public senior high schools as a member of one of the world’s most prestigious cultural exchange programs (JET), run by 3 Japanese government ministries
- Served as youngest and only non-Japanese member on 4-person team to develop English high school curriculum
- Created and executed 4 semester-long oral communication curriculum for over 500 students
- Spearheaded new programs to address lack of English opportunities for student body: launched school wide English newsletter
- Revamped weekly student English club: persuaded administration to grant funding to club, doubled membership
