Claire is a member of the Middlebury College class of 2023 and studies Environmental Public Health and Geography. She grew up in Washington, DC but sees herself Vermonting long-term. Claire works on the college’s organic farm facilitating volunteer opportunities for students and crop planning, planting, harvesting, and delivering produce to the dining halls, local food shelves, and a variety of community partners. Some of Claire’s favorite books are In the Dream House, All About Love, Care Work, Undrowned, and Fun Home. She’s passionate about resistance movements of all kinds, particularly food sovereignty, queer liberation, and community health. Claire’s eager to talk across generations with Kolotniks about their experiences and lives. She is not Jewish so she’s coming to the project with a lot of openness and curiosity. Claire is honored to get to help archive the history of Kolot by sharing Hannah Mermelstein’s story!
