In July of 2022 students in my Performing Arts and Community Engagement in Uganda course worked with Ugandan artisans and residents to create a model for sustainable drum construction. Throughout the course, the students identified threats to drum making and helped create community-based solutions to each. They then presented an explanation of their contributions to their community partners.
