About

As a bilingual child to immigrant parents from Oaxaca, I understood at an early age the importance of communication between cultures. Since my first Pokémon game, I have been intrigued by Japanese culture and throughout my university career, I took linguistics and Japanese courses to enhance my communicative competence in a third language. I also decided to refine mi español to gain a competitive edge in a professional world. As a M.A. Candidate in Translation & Localization Specialization at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), I am gaining the technological and management know-how to aid me in my goals to be a localization specialist. In this e-portfolio, you will find examples of relevant coursework that demonstrates examples and application of the knowledge I am receiving, including L10N Project & Vendor Management, website localization, and CAT tools. I am excited to enter this industry as not only a language lover but also as a well-trained professional.

Apart from localization, I also love any chance to express my creativity. I have created posters and logos for promotion such as the current logo used by MIIS Japan Forum. I am not shy about applying this passion in my work either.
