One semester prior to practicum:
Monitor job boards and apply for internships and jobs that you are qualified for. Approach organizations about doing practicum with them. Send them the letter to organizations if they ask for more information.
Work with the Center for Advising and Career Services (CACS) on customizing your resume, cover letter, and letter of introduction for specific positions. Work with CACS on practice interviews and salary negotiation strategies (if applicable).
Towards the end of this semester, you should have a practicum site lined up and be working with the organizations to develop a terms of reference (TOR) document to clarify expectations on both sides. Keep your instructors and advisors informed of your progress.
