Same-Same

I have arrived! Actually, I arrived a week ago, but just haven’t had a chance to update the ole’ [new] blog. First and foremost I want to thank everybody for their amazing support. The feedback I got from my first post was amazing and made me so excited to share every detail of my life with you all. Just kidding, I won’t pain you with the number of mosquito bites on my feet, unless you want to know that. (it’s an estimated 10)

I assumed that Banglore, India would be extremely different then let’s say, Los Angeles, California. And it is in a lot of ways, most of which I have yet to uncover, I’m sure. However, I thought I’d share a few ways in which Bangalore is the same.

1. This was the first bar I went to in Bangalore. If that doesn’t look like something on Abbot Kinney, I just don’t know what does. Bangalore is known for their breweries and thus far I’ve been to three. So I average about a 1/2 brewery a day.

By the way, this bar is a expat hot spot, hence all the ‘mericans in the photo.

2. You’re never too far from a Chipotle (kinda). There’s the place called “California Burrito” which is basically an exact rip off of Chipotle with an India twist. I got a burrito bowl, but with bbq paneer. At least there’s guac!

By the way, I didn’t take this photo, but I desperately needed to depict this Chipotle rip off.

3. I am… Not Kidding: Wait, even Cafe Gratitude is here? Like I really didn’t even want you here, Cafe Gratitude. I apologize for the shitty photo but this is the menu at Yoga House, which is actually a really amazingly beautiful place. We saw a concert there Sunday and it was awesome, but I literally died when I saw this menu.

So there you go. Not everything is different! Of course, there could be multiple diatribes written on why it sucks that there are these similarities, but at this point, I’m not saying no to fake chipotle.

Over and out!
