Don’t think you are a leader? Think again…

According to Dr. Brené Brown a leader is“Anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes and has the courage to develop that potential.”

About The Dare to Lead Program

Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals.

The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage building skills through workshops, trainings, and coaching to help individuals, teams, and organizations move from armored leadership to daring leadership.

Individuals who successfully complete the full 24-hour Dare to Lead™ program will receive a Dare to Lead Trained digital certificate and a digital badge that be added to their LinkedIn account.

Further information is available at daretolead.brenebrown.com

Note:  This program is also available for teams or workgroups in the full 24 hour or an 8 hour overview version; and can be offered remotely or in person. Contact Sheila Cameron.

Digital Annotation Workshop in the Wilson Media Lab

Join us on Thursday, April 6 at 1:30PM Eastern for a special workshop in the Wilson Media Lab focused on using digital annotation in classrooms and online. Digital annotation—a technology that allows us to annotate documents and web pages from inside a browser window or inside Canvas—is an alternative to online discussion forums, which can often be hard to make lively and interesting. Workshop participants will gain hands-on experience with an annotation client, Hypothes.is, and receive guidance on using Hypothes.is in WordPress, Canvas, and on the open Web.

This workshop explores collaborative web annotation as a core digital pedagogical practice in the 21st century classroom. This emergent technology enables everyday Internet users to comment on or publicly discuss any web page. It can be applied in education to teach students traditional literacy skills and newer forms of digital literacy.

For more information, visit the Office of Digital Learning blog.

Hey Students! Try Our WT Workshop on Research & Zotero

Are you working on a senior thesis or starting a big research project? Drowning in journal articles and books, but not sure how to keep track of them all? Let us help you with the next stage of your journey as a power researcher in our Winter Term workshop “Zotero and Beyond: Power Research Tips for Student Researchers.” You’ll see how the research process is itself a way of synthesizing your findings and mapping out next steps. By the time you leave, you’ll be an expert in Zotero, the citation management tool that can help you save, organize, and cite your sources, and you’ll encounter a variety of note-taking strategies and see the ways that developing personalized research routines can jump-start you into the writing process.
