Elizabeth Haney, an Associate Director in Middlebury’s Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs, was selected to receive a $500 travel award from the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) to subsidize the cost of her attendance at the NCURA Region I Spring Meeting on May 2-4, 2016 in North Falmouth, MA. NCURA Region I offers a wide variety of educational, networking, and professional development programs for research administrators in New England through the volunteer efforts of its members. The theme of the Spring Meeting is “Leadership through a Sea of Change,” and the program features a keynote talk on leadership, presentations from federal agency representatives, and concurrent sessions and discussion groups on all aspects of research administration. Liz’s participation in the conference will surely inspire and influence her work here at Middlebury. Congratulations Liz!

Elizabeth Haney to speak at the Vermont Women in Higher Education 2016 Women’s Leadership Conference
Elizabeth Haney, an Associate Director in Middlebury’s Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs, was selected to present a workshop at the Vermont Women in Higher Education (VWHE) 2016 Women’s Leadership Conference on March 31 – April 1, 2016 in Killington, VT. VWHE, affiliated with the Office of Women in Higher Education at the American Council on Education, works to foster connections among women in various sectors of higher education, promote women’s leadership, and encourage and support women leaders of diverse backgrounds. Keeping with the conference theme of ‘Power Up! Harness your Power, Direct your Energy, Electrify your World,’ Liz’s workshop will help participants develop a personalized approach to managing and renewing their energy levels to enable sustainable success and happiness.

Elizabeth Haney, an Associate Director in Middlebury’s Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs, was selected to receive a $450 conference grant from the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) to subsidize the cost of her attendance at the CUR Dialogues conference on February 18-20, 2016 in Washington, DC. CUR is a national organization to support and promote high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship, and the Dialogues conference is designed to allow administrators to interact with federal agency program officers and other grant funders. Liz’s participation in the conference will surely inspire and influence her work here at Middlebury. Congratulations Liz!

Elizabeth Haney, an Associate Director in Middlebury’s Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs, was elected as an officer for Region I of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA). NCURA Region I offers a wide variety of educational, networking, and professional development programs for research administrators in New England through the volunteer efforts of its members, and with assistance from the NCURA national office. Liz will begin her term as Secretary-Elect on January 1, 2016, and transition to Secretary the following year. She has been an active member of Region I for years and her service to NCURA Region I was recognized in 2014, when she was the recipient of the Outstanding New Professional Award. Congratulations Liz!
