This article is about protecting bird nesting habitat on some Lake Champlain islands. It is very much a call to the acknowledgement that the presence of humans or at least the high traffic presence of humans is disrupting ecosystems. It takes the view that because of this observation humans should make sure to stay away from important locations to prevent disturbing the birds. Vermont Life frames it as a conflict with nature and takes the side that we should concede defeat in the conflict. This is the classic environmentalism for the preservation of indigenous ecosystems for the sake of the ecosystems. It doesn’t propose a relationship other than people stay away from the birds so they can nest.
