I am a professor in the Philosophy Department at Middlebury College, and I currently hold the George Nye and Anne Walker Boardman Professorship in Mental and Moral Science. I also regularly contribute to the Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies Program and the Environmental Studies Program at Middlebury. I am originally from the west coast of Canada and I hold a Ph.D. from University of Minnesota, a Masters from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, and a B.A. from University of Victoria in British Columbia. I work in feminist epistemology and philosophy of science, as well as social epistemology more generally. I am particularly interested in the link between ethics and epistemology, and I spend a lot of time thinking about how people can be responsible inquirers, and how to negotiate our trust relations with experts.

I have served as Chair of the Middlebury College Philosophy Department, coordinator of the Board of Associate Editors of Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy, President of the Society for Analytical Feminism, and President of the Canadian Society for Women in Philosophy.

When I am not engaged in philosophy, I can be found dog training, ski touring, cycling, paddling, and spending as much time outdoors as possible (including reading outside!).
