Useful Resources for Learning SDL Trados 2015
Here you can find a collection of some useful links to help you get started using SDL Trados Studio 2015. From learning how to navigate basic functions, to creating and maintaining your own translation memories (TMs) and termbases, this collection of free online resources is a great place to start learning to ropes of the industry leading program. Included are some resources for MultiTerm and Passolo, programs that are often used in conjunction with Trados. We encourage you to explore these resources, as each website has quite a bit of information on a variety of Trados and translation-related topics. Trados
SDL’s YouTube Channlel includes a lot of videos that introduce users to many of Trados Studio’s basic functions. These include an overview video, how to get started, the basics of translating a document, and using the alignment tool. There are also videos that teach users some more advanced skills, such as managing a project in Trados. These video tutorials are pretty straightforward and easy to follow, so I definitely recommend trying them out to learn some new skills or refresh your memory.
This blog post by Emma Goldsmith, a medical translator, is a great guide for getting started and translating your first document in Trados. It covers the basics in a very straightforward way. She also has a post where she highlights and explains some of the most common important features amongst other helpful posts.

This page provides brief explanations of how to perform a variety of tasks in Trados, such as customizing the display of term entries during translation, filtering for translation memory search types, defining global options, upgrading translation memories, and much more. These tips come directly from SDL and they’re pretty helpful. The site also includes help for complementary programs, MultiTerm and Passolo.
