My name is Clarissa and I’m excited to be a part of the DLC team! I’m interested in finding new ways to use technology to help diverse groups connect and learn more effectively. I believe there are lots of great tools out there that can enhance instruction and build more integrated communities.
Before coming to MIIS, I taught English in Japan for five years on the JET Program. During my time there I worked on curriculum development, professional development for educators, and participated in an iPad Pilot Program to better integrate technology into elementary school lessons. I have a B.A. in Anthropology and East Asian Studies and minor in Art History. While at the DLC, I hope to continue exploring the interactions between design, technology, and education.
I have extensive experience with academic and conference presentation, blogging, and utilizing web tools in educational, collaborative contexts. I’m happy to help anyone with projects related to these areas!
DLC Specialties: Wordpress, Powerpoint, Prezi, Word/Pages, Audio & Visual tool basics (Photoshop, iMovie, Youtube)
