Before coming to MIIS, I worked for several years as the main online marketer for a company based in Alaska. I was also an online content and marketing consultant for several small businesses.

I graduated from Michigan Technological University with a degree in graphic design and writing, entered the working world for several years, then joined the Peace Corps. I went to Armenia from 2011-2013 and taught computer classes to high school-aged kids and their teachers.

I’ve always loved to travel. I’m originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (known as the U.P.), but have been to almost all 50 states and more than 18 different countries. I have been blogging about my travels since 2008.
