Panther Day Protest

On October 20, 2018, student protesters lined the sidewalk in front of the Mahaney Center for the Arts to protest the college’s treatment of survivors and cases of sexual violence. The protest occurred alongside the college’s first Panther Day Parade, a new tradition to take place annually during Homecoming, in which student organizations and clubs walked from the Kirk Alumni Center to the Center for the Arts.

The protesters dressed in black, wore duct tape over their mouths, and held signs that called out the college’s actions, such as “We believe survivors, Midd should too,” and “Green Dot is not enough.”
