The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is the lead U.S. Government agency working to end extreme global poverty and enable democratic societies. The Mission of USAID’s Office of Inspector General is to safeguard and strengthen U.S. foreign assistance through timely, relevant, and impactful oversight. The Office of Audit for the Office of Inspector General focuses on strengthening the ability of all the agencies it oversees to manage and deliver foreign assistance.
The Office of Audit’s Global and Strategic Audits Division is responsible for conducting performance audits and analyses on a wide range of development programs. These programs span several sectors to include agriculture & food security, democracy & governance, economic growth, education, environment & global climate change, global health, and much more. Other key responsibilities include addressing congressional and agency priorities, statutory requirements and keeping Congress, the public, and other interested parties informed about the agencies’ operations. The Office of Investigations conducts worldwide investigations into allegations of criminal, civil, and administrative violations. Its priority is to prevent fraud, waste and abuse within the programs and operations agencies under its purview and to foster and encourage the integrity of their employees, as well as that of their contractors, grantees, and host country counterparts. We will be joined by MIIS alumni (MPA/2013) Dave Waldron (Program Analyst, Global and Strategic Audits Division) and his colleague Brianna Schletz (Assistant Director, Global and Strategic Audits Division). All personal property, including but not limited to any packages, briefcases, other containers or vehicles brought on to, or being removed from an Agency installation are subject to inspection and search by authorized persons. All computing devices of any kind (tablets, phones, watches, etc.) are prohibited from being brought into CIA Headquarters.
