John Elder, professor emeritus of English and American Literatures and Environmental Studies, will lead a workshop on fostering a community of learners within a class. The key is practicing respectful listening and direct response to fellow participants in each discussion. We will explore several exercises that can help the conversations in a class go beyond being a collection of individual insights and achieve a vibrant and inspiring wholeness.
