What’s next for you?

I’m a week late on this, but I was wondering where you all see your writing going after this class? We’re about to be done with spring semester, but with new freetime comes a loss of structure. What’s something you want to work on after finishing finals? Do you think your writing will change with less structure? I hope everyone is doing well during your last classes.

  1. Hi Makenna,

Thanks for the question! Truthfully I do not really know where my writing is going to go this summer. Not only does summer usually have a loss in structure, but a quarantined summer will likely be even worse! I have set a goal for myself to write a poem a week until school starts back up again. Like Lucia mentioned, I also plan to spend much of my free time reading.

  2. Hi Makenna!

I think it’ll be harder to motivate myself to write without deadlines, but I really want to look over the poems I’ve written over the years and revise them and maybe even self-publish them. I’m going to have especially a lot of free time since I can’t intern anywhere or get a job, so I’m going to try to replace that time with reading and writing. I also really would like to take more writing classes next year (provided that we can return to campus).

I hope you have a great summer and are doing well!
    Lucia
