Embrace the challenge of engaging your creative human potential alongside AI to develop strategies for climate crisis management, emphasizing technological innovation, infrastructure redesign, and community resilience.
This Create-a-Thon spotlights environmental advocacy. Participants, ranging from artists to technologists, team up with AI to explore and innovate on an environmental theme. This challenge encourages a multidisciplinary approach, pushing the boundaries of digital creation to address environmental issues.
During the event on Friday, April 26th in Hillcrest 103, teams work within a set time-frame, 2 hours, to develop projects based on a surprise environmental theme, revealed at the start. This setup encourages creative freedom and improvisation, with AI serving as a powerful tool to enhance innovation and offer novel solutions. After the creative session, each team will present their work as a pitch or demonstration. The aim is to produce projects that are not only unique and innovative but also environmentally conscious, showcasing the synergy between creativity, technology, and sustainability.
Three projects will be chosen by our judges to receive $250 in Middlebury money. All participants will have the option of receiving a Vermont key-chain made by Treeline Terrains or $10-15 in Middlebury Money.
Participants may register for the Create-a-Thon as a team or as an individual by Friday, April 19th. Individuals will be partnered with other individuals for the event.
There will be an information session on Monday, April 22nd, from 3-4pm in Hillcrest 103. All teams must have at least one member attend, and all individuals must attend.
To help our particpants get ready for the event, there will be a TechKitchen focused on using AI to explore climate change on Wednesday, April 17th, from 3:30-5pm in the Wilson Media Lab.
The Create-a-Thon champions collaboration, learning, and fun, while maintaining a competitive edge with prizes for standout projects. It’s a dynamic platform that demonstrates the potential of AI as a partner in making a positive environmental impact, fostering a space for creators to innovate for a greener future.
