4/4 Stone Soup Summit: Volunteer and enjoy a free local foods feast
The annual Stone Soup Summit brings together community members in Addison County to celebrate, enrich and sustain Farm to School programs now and in the future. This year the summit needs note-takers with a prior interest in local agriculture, farm-to-school programs, or school curricula, or anyone with a background in journalism. Volunteers should arrive at 4:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at Mt. Abe High School in Bristol to take notes for the World Cafe, where participants cycle through tables in 25-minute rounds, a different discussion topic at each table. Volunteers would receive note-taking instructions and be assigned a table – the notes will be used to keep track of the ideas for a report on the status of Farm-to-School work in Addison County. Volunteers could leave at 6:15, or stay to enjoy a free local foods feast prepared by Addison County’s Jr. Iron Chefs. Interested? Contact ACORN manager Lea Calderon-Guthe, lea@acornvt.org. If you sign up to volunteer and need transportation, contact Ashley Calkins, jcalkins@middlebury.edu, to arrange a carpool.
