Stats:
Desk activity – non-circ:
Main: 193
Music: 24
Armstrong: 67

Highlights:
• Opening/training at Main and reviewing checklists/procedures
• BLSE: adjusting borrower data base
• Student employees: student budget planning for FY10; Main – fall and end of summer schedules being developed – only 4 open shifts remain
• Outstanding hold requests – contacted and directed to NExpress
• Created student training survey (draft)
• Compiling stats for the annual report
• Updated Main cash/charge documentation on wiki
• NExpress too long lists – search and follow up
• Participating in planning for LIS Project Directory
• Main: things remain quiet at main circ desk; many supervisors have re visited the opening/morning routine at main and will be making suggestions as to how we can streamline the procedures and checklists; FMP media screening list continues to be tweaked as new people get used to its capabilities and limitations; increased computer use and printing in the evenings, increase in paging slips for Davison
• Music: Students rolling on special projects at Music; increase in BL requests from Music
• Armstrong: vacation time; log in problem fixed; map project in process
• Stacks: Rewriting student JD – requesting level B classification; dusting project underway
• Equipment: Working with Helpdesk re: reimaging of Dell four-hour loaners, and the addition of new MacBook laptops for students (and removal of old iBooks); also figuring out new workflow for student loaners (borrowers will need to connect with ethernet cable and log in with username/password); new powerpoint remotes added to collection to ease the crunch of LS classroom needs
• Reserves: Preparing to send out 2 separate (brief, but informative) emails to new and returning faculty; vacation time

Challenges
• Armstrong – 3-hole punch dead
• Printing – complaint that log-in stations are not conveniently located near printers
• Reduced workload for ILL/Reserves student employees – unanticipated processing time down for ILL requests
• Accurate circ activity at branch that is staffed only part of the time it is open
• Continued squeaking doors, continued gate alarms for Davison books, self-check malfunctions (books checking out but not de-sensitizing)
• Possible case of wrong ID number embedded in ID
