What’s New in ARTS & ARCHITECTURE:

  • [Workshop] Seniors! Get a JumpStart on your job search in the Arts. Two upcoming workshops just for you on Sept. 24 (12:30-1:30 p.m., Hillcrest 103) and Oct. 2 (4:30-5:30 p.m., Mahaney CFA 125). RSVP on MOJO.

  • [Job] Sotheby’s is recruiting for its training program. Applicants will spend a year in a variety of art departments, attending lectures and workshops, museum visits, and work with senior members  of the company on projects. Permanent placing will be offered to select applicants after the year.
  • [Internship] Be an artist’s apprentice! This apprenticeship offers the enterprising student an opportunity to engage with the mechanisms and machinations of an emerging artist’s daily studio practice.

  • Jocelyn Wyatt, Executive Director and Co-Lead of Ideo.org, will speak at Midd on Sept. 26 (12:30 p.m., Axinn 219) as part of CSE’s Friday Speaker Series.
  • Professor Ben Tilghman of Lawrence University explores how the calligraphy and ornament in the manuscript and related works represent an effort by its makers to solve the problem of depicting an invisible and unknowable god in “Verbum est Res: Rendering Divinity in the Book of Kells” (September 25, 4:30-6:00 p.m., CFA 125).
