MidOcean Partners is a premier Alternative Investment Manager based in New York that invests in Private Equity and Credit. The firm’s private equity business targets investments in private companies in business services and consumer. The firm’s credit business targets investments in loans, high yield bonds, private credit and other debt instruments across multiple strategies and funds.
The firm is looking for motivated students who are either a rising Junior or a rising Senior and are interested in joining the MidOcean team for an 8 week paid summer internship designed to provide select college students with an opportunity to learn more about private equity and/or credit hedge investing.
Summer interns will be assigned to support a research analyst or a deal team and they will complete projects and assignments with the intent of gaining exposure to our industry. Each Summer Analyst will gain exposure to other areas of our business including business development, portfolio management, marketing and the firm’s ESG initiative. Summer Analysts will be provided with introductory training to help introduce them to the language and key concepts of the firm’s investment process including, sourcing, diligence, research and the investment decision making processes.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree candidate who is either a rising Junior or a rising Senior with a track record of academic success
- Self-directed, detail-oriented problem solver with a desire to learn and contribute
- Keen interesting in learning about the financial services industry and investing
- Able to prioritize in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
- Outstanding verbal and communication skills
- Good Excel and Powerpoint skills
- Must be thorough, tenacious and resourceful
- Demonstrates strong ownership of work
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
