The Freeman Chair in China Studies at CSIS is recruiting for 3 full-time, paid interns who can provide dedicated support for research related to China’s economic issues, during the period from June 3, 2019 to September 7, 2019.
The Freeman Chair is dedicated to delivering informed public policy debate, expert briefings, and strategic policy recommendations on China and East Asia. Key research areas include U.S.-China relations, cross-Strait relations, Chinese domestic politics, and Chinese foreign policy. An ideal candidate will have substantive knowledge on contemporary China’s economy and policy process, particularly on issues related to technology, and familiarity with how to find and analyze primary Chinese documents and data.

The Town of Middlebury Department of Planning & Zoning is looking for a summer intern to assist with collection and basic analysis of background data for use in a Downtown Market Study.
Student will perform research related to the following Sectors of Downtown Middlebury’s local economy: Housing, Retail & Service businesses, Housing, Office Space and Lodging. The internship project will be based on guidance developed by the University of Wisconsin-Extension for performing a Downtown Market Analysis. The internship project will draw upon several of these tools, scaling them to fit the size of our community and the hours available for this project.

The Innocence Network is an affiliation of 68 organizations dedicated to providing pro bono legal and investigative services to individuals seeking to prove innocence of crimes for which they have been convicted, working to redress the causes of wrongful convictions, and supporting the exonerated after they are freed in the United States and abroad.
The Innocence Project, a not-for-profit organization that works to exonerate the innocent through post-conviction DNA testing and develop and implement policy changes to prevent wrongful convictions and otherwise reform the criminal justice system, is one of the founding members of the Innocence Network and provides support for the Innocence Network Support Unit, a team of four employees who help facilitate the work of the Network.
The Innocence Network Support Unit is seeking an intern to support the operational activities of the Innocence Network. The Network Communications/Special Projects Intern will report to the Innocence Network Coordinator and will work with other members of the Network Support Unit. The intern can expect to gain direct exposure to various areas of non-profit management as well as exposure to a national coalition of criminal justice reform organizations.
The internship is based at the Innocence Project office in lower Manhattan and requires a minimum commitment of at least three full days a week; however, the time frame and schedule are flexible. Ideally, the internship will begin in June and conclude sometime in early to mid-August. Please note that this is not a legal internship and is better suited for individuals looking to pursue careers in the non-profit management sector.

Interns perform desk research, draft reports, proofread texts, and occasionally support with various administrative tasks.
