Today we covered diphthongs, few basic introductions/conversation starters, and the conjugation of <εγώ>.

Ευχαριστώ = Thank you / Ευχαριστω πολύ = Thank you very much

Παρακαλό= Please

 

INTRODUCTIONS:

Γέια σας! = Hello/Good-bye (plural; formal)

Γεια σου! = Hello/Good-bye (singular; informal)

 

Πώς σε λένε; = What are you called? (What is your name?)

Με λένε ______ . (insert your name) = I am called _______.

-OR-

Τι είναι το όνομά σου; = What is your name?

Ονομάζομαι ______. (insert your name) = I am named _______.

 

Τι κάνεις; = How are you?

Καλά = Good / Πολύ καλά= Very good

‘Ετσι κι έτσι = So, so

Χάλια = horrible; not good

 

CONJUGATION:

Εγώ = I, Me

Εσύ = You (singular)

Αυτός, αυτή, αυτό = He, she, it

Εμείς = We all

Εσείς = You (plural)

Αυτοί, αυτές, αυτά = They (masculine, feminine, neutral)

**These are used to provide emphasis to mark a verb; they can be, but are not typically used before a verb, because they verb itself contains the case.
