Showkat, 20, arrived in Jordan with his family three years ago from Daraa, Syria. He’s with his 18-month old son, Omer, who was born in the camp. Life as a refugee in the desert is grueling, especially in the summer: “There’s heat, dust, a lack of water, and no electricity. It makes you feel desperate. We become angry.
