Anthropology Senior Projects (ANTH 700 and 710)
2023-24 Schedule
Our first meeting on 9/13 is mandatory for all majors seeking ANTH 700 & 710 credits between Fall 2023 and Spring 2024:
Mandatory Meeting: Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 4:30 pm, Monroe 112
During this meeting, you’ll gather information about potential advisors and talk briefly about your anticipated topics.
Further meetings will be announced as necessary.
Students who wish to turn their one-semester project into a two-semester project will discuss their project with their project advisor and one other ANTH faculty member. The idea is for everyone to confirm that there is enough material to sustain a longer project. The registration date for Jterm is early November, which means you must present your proposal before this date in order to be able to continue and register for credit during Jterm and beyond. If you are beginning in Jterm, this should happen in the third week of January.
Project due dates (all 5 p.m., last day of classes)
One-Semester Project ANTH 700
Fall: final copy due December 11, 2023 (Monday)
Spring: final copy due May 13, 2023 (Monday)
Two-Semester Project ANTH 710
Fall/Winter: final copy due February 1, 2024 (Thursday)
Winter/Spring: final copy due May 13, 2024 (Monday)
NOTE: While draft dates set by your adviser are advisory, there is a heavy grade penalty for failing to meet the final due dates listed above. Do NOT plan on obtaining an extension of the final due date.
