Dear Faculty and Staff:

RSVP and the United Way of Addison County is once again gearing up for its Annual Days of Caring event. Every year, they send out hundreds of community volunteers to complete dozens of projects at non-profits throughout Addison County.

This year, the event will be held on Thursday, September 25th and Saturday, September 27th, 2014.

Here are some examples of the projects that are currently available:

  • Bake muffins/ prepare lunch at local child care centers
  • Paint play structures
  • Build a hand railing and picnic tables
  • Mulch/prune/weed/rake gardens
  • Harvest fall crops
  • Dig a sand box/spruce up a playground
  • Rototill a baseball field
  • Plan, execute (and enjoy!) a pizza party
  • Take pictures of volunteers
  • Dust library stacks/process books/read shelves
  • Visit with a senior citizen
  • Sand and varnish children’s chairs and tables
  • Clear a nature trail
  • Erect a fence and repair stadium jumps
  • Help prepare for a silent auction/ file paperwork
  • Wash walls, wood work and/or windows
  • Remove invasive plants at State Parks
  • And MANY more!!

Staff members: Middlebury College offers paid time off for this event; therefore, staff members do not have to use CTO. However, please obtain your supervisor’s approval before registering for the event.
