FAQ Spotlight: “What is the status of my job application?”

This is a frequently asked question in HR. When an application is submitted online, the hiring manager for that position can view the applicant’s submitted information by logging in to a special account that is set up for them in Greentree, our online applicant tracking system. At this point, the hiring manager will determine when they feel that they have a strong enough applicant pool to begin interviews. Sometimes hiring managers will receive a tremendous number of applications and will ask us to add the status “no longer accepting applications” to the top of the listing. This notice does not prevent candidates from applying for the position, but the hiring manager is not obligated to review applications received after this status has been added to the listing.

The hiring managers coordinate their own interview schedules, so HR does not know who or how many candidates will be interviewed. However, we can check to ensure that your application is linked to the correct opening and that all required documents were properly attached. Depending on the search, hiring timelines can vary widely. However you can always monitor the status of a listing on the employment opportunities website or on your individual home page that is displayed when you log in as an applicant.
