Mark Zelis joined the communications staff as a Web producer in the summer of 2008. He received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, focusing on film and animation. At RISD, Mark was a resident assistant, a teacher assistant, and taught continuing education classes in Illustrator and Photoshop. Mark met his wife in the RA program at RISD, and they married soon after graduating.
Mark worked as a new media manager at a start-up, ClearLogic, where he gained experience in electronic advertising and multimedia production. He soon joined the Chicago-based advertising company Leo Burnett, where he learned brand management and worked on integrated media campaigns that leveraged Web and interactive communications.
Mark applies his love of narrative storytelling to his approach to multimedia creation. He enjoys the collaborative and nurturing environment in the Communications Department and looks forward to sharing the strong tradition and contributing to the future vision of Middlebury College.
