In 1982, Middlebury celebrated it’s first All-American track athlete, Christina “Tina” Ilgner ’86. Christina took 3rd place at the NCAA championship meet in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:15.21. She went on to win three more All-American awards, placing 5th in the 800 in 1983, 3rd in the 1500 meter run in 1985, and 2nd again in the 1500 in 1986.
