Middlebury Forms Its First Intercollegiate Team

In the spring of 1910 Middlebury organized its first intercollegiate team and attended a dual meet against St. Lawrence. The Saints defeated the Panthers 82-35 but this laid the foundation for a team at Middlebury that would last until the present day. An article was written in the campus during the early spring of 1909 that called for the young men of the college to formulate a team for the coming season. This article did not succeed in forming a team for that season but gathered enough interest to bring one about for the following year.
