Brian – I have never connected to the Leicester Hollow Trail from the main road access to the south, but if you were coming in from that direction, I can tell you that the descending trail from the Ridge Trail comes in from your right, at a point where the Leicester Hollow trail is actually a dirt road, with a meadow on your left. This trail juncture occurs at a point shortly before you reach the forest service gate keeping motor vehicles off of the trail for all points north.

Running north on the Leicester Hollow Trail how do you hook up on the Ridge Trail? Is there a sign or are you just looking for a trail on your right just before getting to the iron gate. I want to run the Ridge Trail going north to the back parking lot

The race is called the Moosalamoo Ultra,will be held on August 18, and starts at Blueberry Hill. Its web site is http://www.moosalamooultra.com/, and if you look at the map of the course, you will probably realize you know most of the trails, just not all on one day!

Thanks Michael – It does create new options, but I will reiterate that the Ridge Trail is not as interesting as the Chandler Ridge Trail. If you are interested in longer distances – did you hear about the 36-mile run being held here in mid-August?

Hi Jeff, great write up. I live across the street from the Minnie Baker trailhead and absolutely love these trails. I usually take the Chandler Ridge up to the north end of Silver Lake and then come back Leicester Hollow, over the ridge and back down to our house on 53. It’s a fantastic sunrise run too. In fact, I’ve got a plan of doing a “50″ mile run this fall using these trails. It’s nice to see that you ran the eastern ridge trail here, as I wasn’t aware of that one. It might make things even more interesting. Thanks again for the great write up.
