Roy Wang is an International Politics & Economics major in Middlebury College and he has spent most of his life in Shanghai, China and Tokyo, Japan. He enjoys learning from other students’ unique and inspiring stories, and tries his best to bring students from different cities, states, and countries together in the lovely community of Middlebury. On campus he is an active member of Middlebury Model United Nations, International Students’ Organization, SLAC, and TEDx Middlebury. He also plays Saxophone in the Jazz band.
Roy was born in a diverse community where 49 ethnic groups are present with people speaking English, Russian, Mongolian, Chinese, Arabic, Uyghur, Persian and many other languages. He is interested in foreign cultures and languages, and he speaks Chinese, Japanese, and German. He is currently learning Arabic and focusing on Middle East Studies, and therefore he hopes to study abroad in Alexandria, Egypt. Some of his other passions include swimming, Jazz and Classical Music, Biology, Politics, and Economics.
