Moria Sloan is a student at Middlebury College majoring in Geography and minoring in Global Health. Her interests lie primarily in promoting health equity, both in the United States and abroad. She hopes to study abroad in Latin America, where she would like to utilize her geography skills to help both support the effectiveness and broaden the outreach of local health clinics.
As a student Moria has studied public health disasters, ranging from the 9/11 terrorists attacks and Hurricane Katrina to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. She has also studied humanitarian action, and has helped compile a report for Save the Children USA on the new challenges that urbanization presents to humanitarians.
On campus Moria plays for women’s soccer team. She is also active in GlobeMed, a student organization dedicated to global health initiatives and awareness, including supporting their partner NGO in Rwanda, Gardens for Health International.
Moria is from Washington, DC. In her spare time she enjoys pick up sports, hiking, traveling, and eating long meals with friends and family.
