Hudson Cavanagh is a student at Middlebury College majoring in International Studies with a discipline in Political Science and a focus on Latin American studies. He believes that all people deserve basic fundamental rights such as health, education and opportunity and intends on dedicating his career in pursuit of giving access to those rights to those denied them. He believes in the value of supporting vulnerable communities in empirically sound, culturally responsive, and innovative ways to address both short-term need and combat the systems that perpetuate systematic need in the longer term. He is proficient in spanish and has traveled to South Africa, Guatemala, Brazil, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and most recently in Ghana as a Community Water Solutions fellowship leader.
Hudson is the lead organizer of TEDxMiddlebury, a board member of the Community Judicial Board, a central organizer of JusTalks, a Middlebury community forum dedicated to supportive self-analysis of identity and to dynamic community building, a member of the Social Justice Coalition, and active intramural basketball player. Hudson was born and raised in New York City.
