What is your favorite non-academic activity?

I absolutely love running, biking, hiking, hanging out with friends, writing, and using my creative side. If I was forced to pick one of these activities though… I would have to say that using my creativity is my favorite non-academic activity. I think that creativity should be (and is) a part of the learning process, so I’m not sure how well I actually answered this question… Oh, and baking with friends is also right up there! Maxwell and I love to bake together. You should keep watching the page for all of the delicious food that we are going to make.

What is the number one thing on your Middlebury Bucket List?

I would say that the number one thing on my bucket list is to graduate from Middlebury saying that I have been to all of the nooks and crannies in town and on campus.

Where is the best view on campus?

The best view on campus is from the roof of BiHall. I went there with a friend, and it is absolutely breathtaking! The telescope up there is also an added bonus.

What is your quest?

Every single person has a quest and, although mine will change and develop over time, my current quest is to  discover myself, become the best person/human that I can be, and to contribute to the beautiful world that surrounds me.

Where is your favorite place to hang out with friends?

There are some amazing people at Middlebury College. Individuals who challenge my worldview, expand my knowledge, push boundaries, and care deeply and passionately about the world around them. For me, its not about where you hang out, but with whom. I am incredibly fortunate to say that no matter where I hang out I will have deep and meaningful conversations, laughter, smiles, and incredible moments.

What do you struggle with?

I struggle a lot with self-confidence and feelings of inadequacy.

Why college? Why Middlebury?

Ever since I was a little kid, I knew that I wanted to go to college. College was, and continues to be, my ticket to the world. It is a world of opportunities that I can’t even begin to describe. I knew that I wanted to go to a college where I would be challenged both in academics and my personal life. College, for me at least, is about becoming the best individual that I can be and learning in a way that will allow me to  absorb, understand, and contribute. When I visited Middlebury for the first time during preview days I fell in love with the school. I loved how passionate and engaged students were. I loved the deep conversations that I had, and I felt at home. I also understood that every student at Middlebury has a story and something to share with the world. Furthermore, the passion, energy, and dedication of the student body made me understand that Middlebury was my college of choice.

One piece of advice you would give prospective students in the admissions process?

Have fun with this process, take deep breaths, and remember that this  is for you! Make your own choices. Good luck, and I know that you can do it! Also, don’t forget to bring a towel and a good book. 🙂

What would you be reincarnated as?

I think that I would be reincarnated as a bird. It would be amazing to feel the wind on my wings, and to experience the freedom of flight.
