StudyDB is a web application for studying… stuff, anything that can be broken down into discrete chunks and displayed as a list. StudyDB helps users to memorize these chucks by tracking study habits. This tracking information can be used to sort through a database to find the study material that may be recently studied, well studied, unstudied, studied but not well known, studied and well known as so on… As a user studies, the application keeps track of the time time and study context. This information can then be used later for review and for generating drills and exercises customized to the user’s current knowledge of the study material.
The study of Japanese Kanji was the inspiration for StudyDB. Thanks to Kyoko Davis, the Japanese version of StudyDB has over 1700 vocabulary items in it drawn from the textbook Genki, An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese.
