Middlebury’s Squash Center officially opened on October 26th, 2013. This 18,000 square foot facility boasts nine international courts, and replaces the five courts of The Bubble. It also houses a spin room that looks out over Middlebury’s outdoor athletic fields and Vermont’s Green Mountains.

The modern architectural design is unique and highly practical. The central sitting area, around which the courts fan, allows for hundreds of spectators to enjoy matches. This open space will allow the team to host more tournaments and matches than in previous years. Directly above this central concourse is a skylight that allows for natural light to filter in and flood the facility. A grand tile entranceway is directly outside of the courts, adding to the massiveness and practicality of the structure. The design elements of The Squash Center will allow it to be considered for LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
