Sorry for the hiatus! The blog has transferred from Alice Ford’s capable hands to my…hands. I will try to keep it updated with current season information. Thanks for checking us out!
Middlebury College vs. Mt. Holyoke College
South Hadley, Massachusetts
The team put forth a great first effort to start off the season. The first half had great intensity with some great connections in the back line. There were great kicks during play, and the first years did an excellent job in their first rugby game! The second half, Mt. Holyoke came back with intensity, but once Middlebury was able to execute punch sequences as performed by the forwards, Middlebury was able to finish strong, with a 42-10 victory.
Great work to Lauren Yang (’13, three tries), Hannah Elkin (’13), Julianna Garnder (’13), and Meghan Mendoza (’12) for putting points up for Middlebury. Great work, especially, to Emma Lennon (’11), who made all six conversion kicks for Middlebury.
Also, a HUGE thank you to the parents and friends who came to support us. Parents of Sarah Buck (’10), Elissa Bullion (’10), and Evan Pagano (’12), brought some very tasty treats for us after the game. Also, thank you to Mt. Holyoke’s rugby team for providing great pizza and fun after the game. You all made the weekend a very fun event!
Congratulations to our team for a job well done! Avery Rain (’11; 3 tries), Evan Pagano (’12; two tries), Emma Lennon (’11), Meghan Mendoza (’12), and Lauren Yang (’13) scored our tries for us, and Emma Lennon made __ of our conversion kicks, for a __ – __ win over St. Mike’s. Special thanks to Julia Gulka’s parents for bringing tasty treats for the team to celebrate her birthday! Also, alumna Celey Schumer (’09) was there to support the team during the rainy conditions. Thank you to everyone for a great day of rugby!

Kick-off is at 11am. Our last game of the school year, so please come to support us!
For directions, please click here.
For our last official game of the year, MCWRC finished strong with a 17-0 victory over Dartmouth. For the first thirty minutes (the team played 3- thirty minutes periods), the competition was tough, but as the second and third periods progressed, Middlebury found its stride and maintained their defense. Congratulates MCWRC!

MCWRC’s Blue and White Alumnae Game
This is the annual alumnae game, where alumnae play against this year’s team in a fun scrimmage. Afterwards, we barbeque and catch-up with one another, and we would love to see you there! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com (Alice Ford) if you are coming so that we can make sure you have somewhere to stay! We would love to see as many people there as we can.
A huge thank you to Melissa Hayes (’12) for organizing a great schedule for the Spring!
