The MCRC is pleased to announce the match schedule for the Fall 2013 season.

Middlebury has been invited to participate in the USA Rugby 7′s National Championship next week in College Station, Texas on the campus of Texas A&M.  The MCRC will begin the competition on Friday, November 30 in pool play against Cal, Arkansas State, and NC State. This Saturday’s match-up between The MCRC and Southern Connecticut has been moved to AIC who have graciously offered the use of their facilities.

The address is 125 Cortland Street, Springfield, MA and kick-off will be at 2 or 2:30pm.

Stay tuned for further updates and we hope to see you there as the Boys in Blue look to win the team’s first ever D-IAA Conference Championship!

Due to heavy rainfall over the past few weeks the Middlebury pitch is unplayable. This Saturday’s matches against the University of Albany will be held in Burlington at the Tree Farm.

Both A & B matches will kick-off at 10:15am.

This Saturday, October 6, Middlebury will compete in the ECRC 7s tournament at Amesbury Sports Park, 12 South Hunt Rd., Amesbury, MA. Please come out and support the boys in blue. Click here for directions.

Middlebury will be in Pool B with Southern Connecticut, Albany and AIC. Pool A will consist of Defending Champs BC, Northeastern and UMass-Amherst, and UConn. 4 points for a win, 2 points for a tie, 0 for a loss. The winners and runners-up of each pool will advance to the semi-finals and the winners of those games will meet in the final. The winner of this tournament will advance to the USA Rugby Collegiate 7s National Championship.

Middlebury takes on Salisbury in the DII National Championship semi-final at Founders Field in Pittsburgh, PA. These two teams met in the corresponding fixture in 2007 in Sanford, FL. Middlebury, eventual national champions, beat Salisbury in that game 49 – 14. Four years on and anyone who played in that game has now moved on.

All of the DII men’s and women’s semi-final and final games will be streamed online at http://www.ustream.tv/usarugby.

Kick-off for the Middlebury semi-final is at 3:15 PM.

Tomorrow The MCRC gets on a plane to sunny Florida to take on St. Joe’s in the National Championship Round of 16. The game is at 2 PM this Saturday, April 16 at the Austin Tindall Regional Park (click here for directions.) Game is on Field 6. This is the first meeting between these two teams.

Saturday’s winner will go on to the Sunday quarterfinal game where they will meet the winner of the Bentley vs. University of Southern Florida game (1 PM kick-off at the same venue.)

Middlebury takes on Yale in their final warm-up game of the spring. 1 PM kick-off for the 1st team, 3 PM kick-off for the 2nd team. Last year the Bulldogs got the better of the Blue in what has become an annual event.
