Before last night, two things had never happened. There had never been a night rugby game played at Norwich University and there had never been any rugby game played in their new turf stadium. Middlebury had the proud honor of being a part of both of those firsts as the spring developmental 15′s side finally kicked off the first live game action of the season, defeating the hosts 22-12.
Playing through steady rain, many players got their first ever taste of rugby and by all accounts are thoroughly hooked. The team played solid defense and despite the wet and slippery ball were able to link together for some nice phases. It was an outstanding effort and performance all around. The future looks bright!
Many thanks to Norwich for hosting a great night of rugby.
