On December 6th the highly anticipated MCRC annual player awards were announced for 2008 during the MCRC banquet, a highlight on all the players’ (and their potential dates’) social calendars. Sporting suit and tie (tuxedo in senior Ari Silverman’s case), 50 ruggers, with a bevy of stunning dates in tow, converged on the Kirk Alumni Center for an evening of great food, great company and unforgettable speeches – most notably recent grad Connor Keeshan ’08.5 graced a captive audience with his quick wit and uncompromising charm.
The class and brotherhood of Middlebury’s rugby playing men was on showcase and a quick survey of their dates confirmed that once again, the boys did not disappoint! After a long, hard but highly rewarding fall season the club takes this opportunity to honor its members and the awards are just one example of this. These awards are based solely on votes from players and coaches. Please join me in congratulating the winners:
Rookie of the Year: Rowan Hall Kelner ’12
Most Improved Player: Daniel Raymond Chow ’09
Most Valuable Player: Max R. Levine ’09
The evening also gave players and coaches an opportunity to celebrate and say an official rugby farewell to our mid-year graduates: Andrew Peters, Connor Keeshan and Francisco Phil Lugovina. We wish you all the best in the real world brothers!
