Addison County Internship
Students apply for the Addison County internship program through Handshake, Middlebury’s internships and jobs platform. If you are a new user on Handshake, you will be prompted to create a username and login. Contact the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) if you have any questions about using Handshake.
Your Handshake application will be reviewed by host site organizations, and the site supervisors will select their respective interns. Selected interns will also participate in a group interview with Privilege & Poverty faculty and staff.
Note: As noted in Handshake, letters of recommendation can be sent to Internship Director Tiffany Sargent via email.
Details for the 2019 summer internship will be posted at a later time.
Who can apply?
All returning Middlebury undergraduate students.
The deadline to apply for Summer 2019 internships is October 31st, 2018.
Students receive an hourly wage at the Category II level for 35 hours/week for 10 weeks.
Students qualify to live on-campus. We try to assign all Addison County intern housing proximate to one another to help support the cohort model. Students can live off-campus as well.
Required Courses and Activities
If selected, you will be expected to have completed, or to enroll in the Privilege&Poverty Academic Cluster foundational course: INTD/RELI 298 Privilege and Poverty: The Ethics of Economic Inequality (being offered for 2018-2019 during the Winter Term).
