Hey, guess who is going to introduce Paul Ryan at the convention? Condi, Condi, Condi!

I got my wish with Paul Ryan so count me among the mobilized on the right. Choosing Paul Ryan energized the right because the CW about Romney himself was turned on its head. Granted, conventional wisdom is generally wrong, but in this case I think it proves the chief significance of the VP pick is to provide insight into the candidates decision-making process as an executive.

Beyond that, you may well be right the VP choice is unlikely to be a determinate factor in the outcome of the race. I could list a slew of campaign effects that could possibly play a role here and in a close race campaigns could likely make a big difference. I will assume that the Obama campaign will meet Romney's campaign decisions so they may well cancel each other out in the end. From a strategic standpoint, however, I think I see Romney "playing chess" a bit hoping to force Obama to make mistakes. I guess we'll see how that plays out.

In the mean time, "On Wisconsin"!
